Team news: Tottenham confirm duo will miss Southampton clash
Tottenham have confirmed two players will miss Saturday afternoons Premier League clash with Southampton. See details here
Tottenham will be desperate to bounce back from their shock Carabao Cup exit when they take on Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Spurs have provided a team news and injury update and confirmed that summer signings Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso will once again miss out this weekend.
Sessegnon arrived at Tottenham from Fulham in the summer carrying a hamstring injury and the versatile winger is still continuing his recovery work so will have to wait before he’s ready to make his long-awaited debut.
Lo Celso has also endured a frustrating time since joining Spurs from Real Betis in the summer as the creative midfielder sustained a hip injury while away with Argentina during the international break earlier this month.
The 23-year-old is continuing his rehabilitation but the early signs are he won’t be back in contention until some point in November so Lo Celso won’t be involved in any of Tottenham’s games over the coming weeks.

Otherwise, Mauricio Pochettino has a healthy squad to choose from and he’s expected to make a number of changes from the side that were embarrassingly knocked out of the League Cup at the hands of League Two outfit Colchester United.
The likes of Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Christian Eriksen, Hueng-min Son and Harry Kane are all set for recalls against Southampton on Saturday.
Tottenham head into the weekend action sitting seventh in the Premier League table having lost 2-1 to Leicester City last Saturday so Pochettino will be demanding a response from his squad against the Saints.
