Tierney starts as Emery makes 8 changes | Expected Arsenal line-up vs Man Utd

Arsenal will be looking to make it four wins on the bounce when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night. Here is the side Gooner Mac thinks Unai Emery will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Emi Martinez put in another solid display during the Carabao Cup victory over Nottingham Forest last week but he’s expected to make way with number one goalkeeper Bernd Leno recalled.

Defence: Emery’s options in defence have been bolster by the returns of Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney after they all made first team comebacks against Forest in the League Cup last Tuesday.

Holding could keep his place after playing a very impressive 90 minutes and he might oust David Luiz as the Brazilian has endured a difficult start to his career at the Emirates. Holding was forming a promising partnership with Sokratis before his injury last season so we may see them paired at Old Trafford.

Tierney looked sharp on his full debut so the Scottish international may get the nod over Sead Kolasinac at left-back but Bellerin isn’t expected to be involved against Man Utd after playing 90 minutes for the Arsenal U23s on Saturday.

Calum Chambers staked a claim for the right-back berth with an excellent performance against Forest but Emery may opt for the pace of Ainsley Maitland-Niles considering he’ll be up against Daniel James – who’s lightning quick.

Midfield: Granit Xhaka was confirmed as the new Arsenal captain on Friday and the Swiss international will be looking to win some fans over after enduring an inconsistent start to the new season.

Joe Willock will be hoping to keep his place after getting on the score-sheet against Forest but I think Matteo Guendouzi will be recalled following his outstanding performance against Aston Villa last weekend.

Dani Ceballos is pushing for a recall after being named on the bench in midweek but the Arsenal boss may go with the battling qualities of Lucas Torreira as he looks to bring home a positive result from Old Trafford.

Attack: Arsenal are certain to recall Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he was rested for the League Cup clash last time out and the Gunners will be hoping he continues his excellent early season form in front of goal.

Alexandre Lacazette remains out with an ankle injury so Aubameyang is likely to lead the line up front with Nicolas Pepe playing from the wing. The Ivorian registered his first goal as an Arsenal player last weekend so that should have given him a confidence boost.

It will be interesting to see who starts on the left side of the attack for Arsenal. Mesut Ozil will be hoping to feature but I don’t see Emery trusting him in a huge away game while Reiss Nelson may not have done enough against Forest to keep his place.

Bukayo Saka has forced his way into the Arsenal first team recently and started against Villa last weekend so the youngster may get the nod versus Man Utd. Gabriel Martinelli may have to settle for a place on the bench despite scoring twice in midweek.

Here is how I think we’ll see Arsenal line-up:
