Cole Palmer should be in the England squad for 2024 Euros

Based on his recent form at Chelsea, experts believe Cole Palmer needs to be in the England squad for the European Championship finals this summer. 

Since switching from Manchester City to Chelsea, Palmer has been ferocious on the field. Football great Ian Ladyman believes that Palmer has the potential to get the nod for the England jersey ahead of the Euros. 

Fans who’ve been regulars at Chelsea with vetter sellers’ tickets will agree wholeheartedly. While Chelsea has had one of their worst seasons, second to only Manchester United, Palmer has been the only positive. 

Palmer’s recent performances impressed them, highlighting his abilities and suggesting he’s making a significant impact at Chelsea.

Pundit Chris Sutton acknowledged Palmer’s talent but was skeptical if Gareth Southgate would suddenly shift to including Palmer in the side. He stressed that at a crucial standpoint like the Euro 2024, where England is desperately trying to win some silverware, Southgate might stick with his more established players. 

Experts Ladyman and Sutton are enthusiastic about Palmer’s potential and believe he could bring something special to the England team. But the key challenge will be bringing in a newcomer to blend into the already established England side.

Some argue that England should build its team around him, with him being just 20 years of age, instead of forcing him to fit into a particular role. 

Bellingham has shown a lot of promise not just as a player but also as a captaincy candidate to take over the reins after Harry Kane. 

Bellingham’s versatility allows him to thrive as a box-to-box midfielder or in a no.10 role, where he has delivered standout performances throughout the season for Real Madrid. 

In that same spot, England has several options to choose from. There’s Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, and James Maddison, but, in contrast, Bellingham is the clear winner. 

However, it would be interesting to see what combination England opts to play, but Bellingham needs to be there for England to lift silverware in Germany.

The official odds are in for the Euro 2024 as FIFA World Cup 2022 runners-up France and England are the hot favorites to win in Germany this year. 

While fans are on the lookout for tickets from vetted sellers, English fans specifically will be hoping the odds pay in favor of their team as they look for silverware after a long hiatus of four decades. 

England and France Hot Favorites
