According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, United have joined Liverpool in plotting a swoop for Sporting CP centre-back, Inacio, ahead of the summer transfer window as both clubs are reported to be monitoring the Portuguese centre-back.
The 22-year-old was instrumental in Sporting’s Primeira Liga title win, featuring in 32 matches at Ruben Amorim’s backline.
Internal discussions are being held by United’s hierarchy on the number of centre-backs they want to sign and a right-footed centre-back is also part of their agenda for the summer with Inacio being monitored according to the report.
The Portugal International has a contract at the Estádio José Alvalade that runs until 2027 with a €60m (£51m) release clause.

Man Utd have ‘expressed their desire’ to sign Real Madrid goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin according to a report from Spanish outlet, Fichajes.
The Ukrainian shot-stopper filled in for the injured Thibaut Courtois earlier this season and grabbed the opportunity with both hands, making incredible saves and playing a pivotal role in Madrid’s La Liga and Champions League winning campaign.
United are in a dire situation in the goalkeeping department with doubts surrounding André Onana after a disappointing first season. United’s board have sighted Lunin’s young age and capability to provide solidity between the post, as per the report.
Fichajes reports that United have earmarked the 25-year-old as part of a revitalisation process after an underwhelming season – but will face stuff competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Betis, who are also keen on the Ukraine International.
United sees first offer for Joao Neves rejected
Benfica have rejected United’s first offer of €60 (£51) for the midfielder, Joao Neves, according to the Portuguese outlet, Record.
Following uncertainties surrounding Casemiro’s future at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are eager to reinforce their squad with a defensive midfielder, with Neves being admired.
Record reports that United have submitted their first offer for the 19-year-old which has been outrightly rejected, with Benfica holding on to his €120m (£102m). However, the Portuguese giants are open to negotiations if a bid of around €100m (£85m) is made.
Although United are keen on bolstering their midfield ranks with the addition of Neves, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will return with a sizeable offer to acquire the youngster amid competition from other clubs.
Red Devils eye move for Matheus Cunha
United are plotting a move to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers forward, Matheus Cunha this summer, according to the Mirror.
The 25-year-old was one of the standout performers for Gary O’Neil’s side last season, scoring 12 goals in the Premier League- more than any United forward in the League.
Mirror reports that United have been keeping tabs on Cunha since last season and have placed the Brazilian on top of their transfer lists of summer transfer targets.
The Red Devils already have Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford in the centre-forward role and have set their sights on adding a new striker with Cunha on top of their agenda.
Despite only playing his first full season in the League since his £44m switch from Atletico Madrid in January 2023, The report reveals that the 11-cap Brazil International is liked by United, who would like to recruit him this summer.
Cunha’s contract at the Molineux Stadium will run until 2027 and is currently valued at €45m (£38m) by Transfermarkt.

The Denmark International has been on United’s radar in the past months and the report reveals that United are still pressing to recoup the midfielder to Old Trafford in the summer.
As part of the rebuilding process by new owners, INEOS, the club are already making concrete steps in recouping staff to be part of the hierarchy at the club. With that nearly completed, the Red Devils are now working on adding players to the squad despite uncertainties regarding Erik Ten Hag’s future, according to GIVEMESPORT.

Manchester United are set to complete the transfer of former Perth Glory youngster, James Overy, as per the Athletic.
The Red Devils may be about to complete their first summer signing of the summer transfer window with the former Australian A-League youngster set to make a switch to Old Trafford this summer.
