Fergie Shocked As Prime Target Hints At U-Turn

By on June 22, 2011

Manchester United target David De Gea has hinted his future could lie with Atletico Madrid, scuppering his potential move to Old Trafford.

The 20-year old was widely expected to take over the reign as United’s No.1, after Edwin Van Der Sar retired last season. Sir Alex Ferguson was hoping to tie up the goalie after he returned home from the European Under 21 tournament.

But the £18million rated Spaniard hinted at a Madrid stay, he said.

“I’m just trying to stay focused on this tournament,” he said. “It’s essential that the players think about only this and not things from outside.

“There is a lot of talk about players leaving Atletico. If the press were to be believed, there would only be two or three players left next season. But Atletico have a great team.

“Any player likes to jump, keep learning and improving. That happens in all areas.

Manchester is a great club and it’s a compliment that I am associated with them, but Atletico is also a big one.”

He isn’t hinting at a u-turn at all. He’s still an Atletico player and he has to be respectful of that, what does everyone expect him to say? There is no doubt this transfer is going through on the 1st July when he officially changes agents. This is just paper speculation because there is nothing better to write about at the moment. Move along, there’s nothing to see here.

All this talk of we r getting this player and that player and what have you got a hand full of broken lies. come on lets sign some world class players. How can we be a less of a pull then any other club so why on gods earth are we not getting the players we are going for. As for going for adams plz god let it just be that we r trying to bump up the price for kenny d as i do not think he could fit into the first team saying that i think he would find it hard to get into are second 11

I think you should take what you read with a grain of salt, the papers just created all these stories to try and make the transfer market seem interesting so that they can boost their paper sales, i say we just wait till the start of the season to see who United sign, it’s pointless letting the blood pressure go up for no reason

De Gea is not the real deal. SAF should go for that Ajax guy or the Lyon fellow. You need a lot experience and not promise. Only God knows why SAF failed to buy Neuer.
