Wenger Talks Of Possible Chamakh Deal
By Fab4.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given the strongest hint yet that Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh will join the club at the end of the season.
Arsenal have constantly been linked with the Moroccan ace after trying to buy him both last summer and in January. Chamakh will be a free agent in June and speaking ahead of their away game against Wigan, Wenger confirmed Chamakh could be heading to the Emirates.
“We will announce the deals after the league [finishes],” he said.
“He is one of the players who has a good chance to join us.”
In my opinion, unless a club like City come in and offer him silly wages, Chamakh will be an Arsenal player next season. It is very unlike Wenger to talk about individual players like this unless he has a serious interest in them and is confident he will sign them. The only times in recent years he has done so is with Arshavin and Nasri, and to a certain extend Chris Smalling before the Fulham defender chose to join United.
Chamakh himself has made no secret of his desire to play in the premier league and it looks like he should get his wish. Arsenal fans will hope this is the first of many new signings this summer as the club look set to end it’s fifth year without a trophy.
Do you think Chamakh will be an Arsenal player next year? Will he be a good signing? Please leave your opinions below….
