Chelsea remain confident of signing Porto fullback Alvaro Pereira before the transfer window closes, according to reports.
Portuguese media sources say Chelsea could agree terms with Porto for the Uruguay international today. Chelsea had a £15million bid turned down for the left back last week with the club insisting they want £25million for Pereira.
Roman Abramovich will not be held ransom over the attacking full back but admits the club need to replace Yuri Zhirkov who joined Anzhi Makhachkala earlier this summer.
