Redknapp: We Should Have Sold Modric For £40m
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he was keen to cash in on want away midfielder Luka Modric.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he was keen to cash in on want away midfielder Luka Modric this summer.
The playmaker made it clear he wanted to leave for Chelsea this summer who had three bids rejected for the midfielder. The latest offer was thought to be worth £40million with some suggesting a package included an unnamed player.
Redknapp admits he didn’t want an unhappy player playing at his club, suggesting the decision to keep Modric was down to chairman Daniel Levy. Redknapp said:
“I’ve always been brought up with the belief that if someone didn’t want to play for your club then you move them on and bring someone in who does.
“And I was of that opinion in the end. If Luka doesn’t want to be here then take the £40million and move on.”
