Wenger: Arsenal Got A Better Deal For Nasri Than Fabregas

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has again admitted they sold former captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona on the cheap.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has again admitted they sold former captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona on the cheap.

Fabregas made his long awaited return to his home town club this summer, with Wenger insisting Barca got their man for cheaper than he had hoped.

The playmaker signed for the La Liga champions for a fee thought to be around £34million. However, the Frenchman believes they got a far better deal for Samir Nasri who joined Premiership rivals Manchester City for a fee thought to be around £23million.

“Frankly, I never believed that,” Wenger said.

“I always said that Cesc is a bargain. With Nasri at least we got a reasonable price for a player with one year to go.

“With Cesc we were forced into a situation because for me he is one of the best midfielders in the world and we knew that we would sell him under what he’s worth.”

Yes, because Barcelona used blackmail, all the thugs talking about the transfer and how Cesc wanted it to happen, the mayor joining the frey and most of all Cesc himself insisting on Barcelona and no other team. Arsenal on the other hand didnt want to keep a player who wanted to leave at all cost. Otherwise, Real madrid maybe would have paid 60m or man city (money miss road) would have paid 80m and that could buy many high quality players for Arsenal.

Actually Barcelona like Trash United are
in huge debt and couldn,t afford the 50
million Euros Arsenal had Cesc valued at ,that,s the real real reason?

the debt was one of the issues on why arsenal had to sell him under their valuation.. the other fact was cesc did not want to go to another club other than bankruptlona so a bidding war cant be issued. he was easily worth 50 mill..

This had nothing to do with Barca. Cesc was calling the shots insisting that there was no market competition for him apart from Barca and if they had offered only 20 Million and Cesc wanted to go. AW would have had to accept it. So, in the circumstances, it could have been a lot worse. Cesc killed the market for Arsenal.

But Arsenal got Cesc for next to nothing
whilst playing for Barcelona,s youth te
ams ,as the dreamteam scouts were fast
asleep or to busy looking for big name players to even notice Cesc who went for a pittance to Highbury ,a good investment after seven or so years same
with Nasri, bought for less than ten mi
llion sold for double what he originally
cost but Guardiola and his backers need
to sort out the huge debt at the club before it catches up ,big time, same wi
th Man City who have to win the Premier
League or Champions League to justify
the huge outlay of the new Arab owners we shall see?
