Both player’s are thought to be considered as potential replacements for Carlos Tevez, who faces further disciplanry action from the club following his refusal to play against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Roberto Mancini recently confirmed he attempted to sign Hamsik while in charge of Inter Milan, while Lavezzi has been attracting interest from across Europe following some impressive displays in recent seasons.
Hamsik and Lavezzi were eqaully impressive during Napoli’s 1-1 draw with City last month and Mancini’s right-hand man Salsano admits both players are potential targets for the Manchester outfit.
“They are two players who we like because our objective at City is to do great things and win,” Salsano told Radio Crc.
“Hamsik has become an important player with the right experience, while Lavezzi is devastating and can hurt people in one on one situations.”
