Liverpool Accept Reina Red Card

Liverpool have decided not to appeal the red card given to goalkeeper Pepe Reina during the closing stages of Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle, according to Sky Sports News.
Reina was shown his marching orders for violent conduct after appearing to headbutt Newcastle James Perch after the defender appeared to clip the heels of the stopper.
The clubs decision to accept the dismissal means Reina will now miss Liverpool’s next three games, including games against Aston Villa and Blackburn, as well as an FA Cup semi final against Everton.
The ban opens the door to back up goalkeeper Alex Doni, who is yet to make a competitive first team appearance for the club. But the Brazilian will now be thrust into the limelight including a showdown with rivals Everton at Wembley.
