Clint Dempsey has issues a come and get me plea to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool after admitting he’s ready to take on a bigger challenge.
The Fulham ace enjoyed a superb season last campaign scoring 23 goals in all competitions, and netted 17 goals to help the Cottagers finish in an impressive ninth place in the Premier League.
However, the American forward has just one year remaining on his current deal and he is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying he’s ready to tackle a ‘bigger challenge’ in his career, and playing in the champions league is a dream he wants to fulfil.
‘After every year I want to keep getting better, and I want to take on bigger challenges, and playing in the Champions League is something I want to do.
It was something I wanted a year ago but it didn’t work out that way. It’s something I still want.
There are things I want to do in my career. And I’m going to do what it takes to make those things happen.’ Dempsey is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
The Mail claim the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have been monitoring his situation but the 29-year-old has said until a club puts an offer on the table, there is little he can do.
‘I don’t get caught up in that [speculation] because until somebody is putting down some money it doesn’t matter.
‘If teams are really interested, they need to put their money with their mouth is and make an offer.’ Dempsey continued.
Dempsey’s wish to play champions league football would put Arsenal in pole position to sign him should the Gunners make their interest official. But if the North Londoners pull out of the race the USA international would also find it very difficult to turn down a move to Liverpool, despite the Merseysiders only able to offer Europa League football next term.

Of all the transfer rumors out there, Dempsey is the only one with a proven track record of scoring goals in the English Premiere Leauge.
As a forward he may not be on Van Persie’s level, but he is certainly more dangerous than anyone we have now.
As a midfielder, his work rate is top notch. He is willing to run back to help the defense, which we really need. He never stops working… even when other give up, he plays hard right to the last minute of every game. Perhaps that is because he’s played for a mid tier team who need every goal even in defeat, but whatever the reason, it’s the kind of toughness that Arsenal needs.

Imagine 17 goals, added to van persie’s 30,if we had purchased him last season we surely would have trophies, but then Arsenal is partial to french, dutch and english players in that order.

cash plus chamahk for giroud, get rid of bendtner and vela, with free’s up cash get depsey, also sign m’vila and a defender, mbwia, vertonghen or van der wiel maybe a back up keeper also.already got podolski, with jack coming back, we would look ok, think rvp would be impressed with the signings and would show we are serious as a football team that we want to compete. with the ox, arteta, song and walcott, midfield is looking ok. just sure up our defense.

Wenger, Dempsey will not disappoint- he is strong, mature and more experienced- one of the few gaps we have been missing in midfield.
