Tottenham vs WBA: Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Tottenham Hotspur welcome West Brom to White Hart Lane on Saturday. Here is a preview with team news, likely line-up’s and predicted score for the big game.
Tottenham welcome West Brom to White Hart Lane on Saturday looking to get their first points on the board after last weeks 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United.
It will be Andre Vill-Boas’ first home game in charge since replacing Harry Redknapp in the summer and the Portuguese coach will be anxious to get his first win under his belt.
But Spurs will face a tough West Brom side who will be full of confidence following their stunning 3-0 demolition of Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
New boss Steve Clarke couldn’t have imagined getting off to a better start and will be hoping to take something away from the Lane today.
Team News
AVB will have do make do without Younes Kaboul after the French defender injured his knee. Summer signing Jan Vertonghen is expected to come in to make his competitive debut for the club.
Club captain Michael Dawson is also available after his move to QPR broke down, but he’s expected to start from the bench.
Scott Parker, Giovani Dos Santos, Heurelho Gomes and Luka Modric are all unavailable, with the Croatian midfielder still waiting to seal his move to Real Madrid.
However, AVB has a fresh option up front after completing the permanent signing of striker Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City. The Togolese hitman is expected to start up front in place of Jermaine Defoe.
Clarke is expected to name an unchanged side following last weeks superb display versus Liverpool. Summer signing Markus Rosenberg is pushing for a start but is likely to start on the bench.
Graham Dorrans will miss out after being given permission to miss the game as his daughter continues to recover from meningitis.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Despite WBA coming off the back off an impressive win over Liverpool, they will do very well to get anything from this game. Spurs did the double over them last season and we expect another victory here. Tottenham 2-0 WBA.
