Tottenham Hotspur take on Maribor this evening looking to pick up their first win in this seasons Europa League.

Spurs have only managed to pick up two points from their opening two fixtures in Group J after draws with Lazio and Panathinaikos and failure to pick up all three points tonight will leave Andre Villas-Boas’ side with it all to do if they are to qualify for the next stage of the competition.

Tottenham have got their league campaign back on track after a disappointing start, although they did let a 2-1 lead slip to lose to London rivals Chelsea 4-2 last weekend, so AVB will be looking for a response from his players this evening.

Team News

Villas-Boas is expected to field a strong line-up but will be without several first team players. Gareth Bale has remained at home to spend time with his family after his partner gave birth last week, while striker Emmanuel Adebayor has also failed to make the trip due to a back complaint.

French captain Hugo Lloris is expected to be given another chance to shine as he continues to battle Brad Friedel for the No.1 jersey.

However, Moussa Dembele, Scott Parker, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Younes Kaboul are all out through injury.

Maribor will be without Nejc Potokar and Rajko Rep while Jovan Vidovic is suspended after his sending off against Lazio three weeks ago.
