Norwich vs Spurs Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Norwich play Tottenham as the two clubs face-off at Carrow Road in the Capital One Cup. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score.
Norwich City welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Carrow Road tonight with a place in the quarter finals at stake.
The hosts will be looking to continue their recent good form and head into the game having collected four points from their previous two Premier League games, including an impressive 1-0 win over Arsenal.
Despite this mini-revival the Canaries sit just two places above the relegation zone and will face an in-form Tottenham side who currently lay fourth in the table.
Spurs have not got past the third round for the previous two seasons so will be keen for a good cup run this year.
Team News
Norwich will be without defender Russell Martin, who is suffering from a back complaint picked up during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
Steven Whittaker and Jacob Butterfield are pushing for starts, as are Andrew Surman, Robert Snodgrass and Jonny Howson.
Andre Villas-Boas is without the injured duo Emmanuel Adebayor and Mousa Dembele while big-money summer signing Hugo Lloris is expected to be given another chance to impress as he continues to battle veteran Brad Freidel for the No.1 shirt.
Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and William Gallas are likely to be rested. Youngsters Andros Townsend, Yago Falque and Kyle Naughton are likely to start, with Jermaine Defoe expected to lead the line.
Scott Parker and Younes Kaboul remain on the sidelines for Spurs.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Despite making a number of changes the Tottenham squad should be too strong for the home side tonight. We can see Spurs winning this one and getting their name in the hat for the quarter finals. Norwich 0-2 Tottenham.
