Selyuk Confirms Liverpool Are In Talks Over African Hitman
Liverpool are in talks with Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala about the signing of giant striker Lacina Traore, according to the players agent Dmitry Selyuk.
Despite the transfer window being closed, there is always transfer gossip doing the rounds in the papers and we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news during the coming months. Today, Liverpool are linked with Lacina Traore.
Liverpool are in talks with Anzhi Makhachkala about the signing of striker Lacina Traore, according to the players agent Dmitry Selyuk.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add to his strike-force when the window re-opens in January and has confirmed funds will be made available for him to spend.
The Mersey club failed to replace Andy Carroll after allowing the striker to join West Ham on loan in the summer and with Fabio Borini sidelined through injury, Rodgers has been left with Luis Suarez as his only recognised front man.
Several names have been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks but according to Selyuk, Liverpool have already approached Anzhi about 6ft 8inch striker Traore after the striker scored the winner in last weeks Europa League tie against the Premier League side.
The 22-year-old’s agent is quoted by Sky Sports as saying:
“Aside from Liverpool, Udinese are another on the list of clubs to have made contact about the purchase of Traore,”
“I’m afraid the Italian side won’t be able to meet the player’s valuation.”
However, while Liverpool appear to be able to strike a deal with the Russian outfit for his signature, Selyuk claims the giant Ivory Coast international is in no rush to leave any time soon.
“At the moment Lacina is happy with his situation at Anzhi,” Selyuk added. “Not long ago he signed a new contract until June 2016.
“There’s no reason for Traore to rush.” Selyuk continued.
Traore moved to Russia in 2011 after signing for Kuban Krasnodar from FC Cluj. He scored 18 goals for Kuban before joining Anzhi in the summer and has already bagged 7 goals in 11 games so far for the big-spenders.
