Tottenham Linked With £10m-Rated Bundesliga Striker
Tottenham Hotspur have been given encouragement from Hamburg to make a move for striker Son Heung-min, with the Germans valuing the youngster at around £10m.
With the January transfer window now open for business we’ll be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest transfer gossip. Today, Tottenham are linked with Son Heung-min.
Tottenham have been given encouragement from Hamburg to make a move for £10m-rated striker Son Heung-min, according to the Daily Mail.
The report claims Heung-min has just 18 months left on his current contract with Hamburg and the cash-strapped German outfit are struggling to agree terms with the 20-year-old over an extension.
The Mail suggest Spurs are the latest club to show an interest in the talented South Korean forward and claim that Hamburg have encouraged the north Londoners to come forward with an offer for the player – who they value at around £10m.
Heung-min looks like an excellent prospect and he forced his way into the first team fold last season after scoring 18 goals in just 9 pre-season games. After a steady debut season in the first team, the youngster has been in impressive form so far this season, scoring six goals in 17 appearances in the Bundesliga.
This form seems to have alerted Tottenham, who may be on the market for a striker before the window closes at the end of the month. Jermain Defoe is the only senior striker available to boss Andre Villas-Boas at present – with Emmanuel Adebayor away at the African Cup of Nations – so I’m sure the Portuguese coach would welcome another forward.

However, while Heung-min may be an exciting prospect for the future, many Spurs fans may be hoping for a more established name to come to White Hart Lane to help in their quest to secure qualification to the champions league next season.
