Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala has welcomed reported interest from Manchester United and Tottenham and is keen to assess his options at the end of the season, according to the Express.
After a difficult first year in Portugal following his move from Standard Liege in 2011, the French centre-back has forced his way into the Porto starting eleven this season and has impressed during his 23 appearances so far this campaign.
The Express claims his form hasn’t gone unnoticed throughout Europe with Italian giants AC Milan and Premier League champions Manchester City joining Manchester United and Tottenham in keeping tabs on the £15m-rated 22-year-old in recent months.
Mangala has now welcomed the interest, calling it ‘the best feeling’ to be linked with clubs like Man Utd and Spurs before confirming he’d like to move to a top European league one day and is keen to see what his options are at the end of the season.
“I have a contract here till June 2016, however all players want to play one day in the top league in Europe. I am no different to that.”
“To be linked with clubs of the stature of Tottenham or Manchester United is the best feeling.
“I want to finish the season strongly and see at the end of the season if the reports are true.” Mangala is quoted as saying by the Express
