Chelsea Linked With Mega Summer Bid For German Attacker
Chelsea have made Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus a priority signing this summer with owner Roman Abramovich understood to have sanctioned a £35m bid.
Despite the transfer window now being closed there will still be plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea are linked with Macro Reus.
Chelsea have made Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus a priority signing this summer with owner Roman Abramovich understood to have sanctioned a £35m bid, according to the Express.
The German international has been one of the best wingers in the Bundesliga over the last few seasons and first made his name at Borussia Monchengladbach where he scored 40 goals in 107 appearances during a two-and-a-half-year spell between 2009-2012.
His form earned him a move to Borussia Dortmund in January 2012 and he has continued his excellent form scoring 15 goals and providing 8 assists in just 31 games so far, and he has also broken into the German national team set up where he has scored 5 goals in just 14 caps.
However, the Express claim European champions Chelsea have identified Reus as a key signing this summer and are prepared to pay up to £35m to lure him away from the Westfalenstadion, with the 23-year-old said to be tempted by a move to the Premier League despite his close ties with Dortmund.
Fernando Torres has continued to look out of sorts in west London and Frank Lampard’s future is still to be resolved, so the Blues may be looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer and there are few in better form at present throughout Europe than Reus.

He certainly seems to know where the goal is and his versatility would also be an asset as he can play anywhere across the attacking midfield positions, so I’m sure he would prove to be an excellent signing if Chelsea could pull it off.
