Liverpool won a five-goal thriller with Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon to keep the race for a top-four finish wide open.
Liverpool started the brighter of the two teams and took the lead through in-form striker Luis Suarez, who poked home after being put through by Jose Enrique in the 20th minute. But Spurs hit back just before the break when Bale’s cross was headed home by defender Jan Vertonghen before the Belgian put the visitors 2-1 up shortly after half time.
However, Liverpool levelled through Downing before captain Steven Gerrard slotted home a late penalty to win it for the Reds after Ekotto had fouled Suarez in the box. Watch highlights and the goals here:
