Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Manchester United and Chelsea are linked with Luka Modric.
Chelsea and Manchester United are set to reignite their interest in Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric this summer with the Croatian understood to be keen on a move back to the Premier League, according to the Mirror.
The report claims both Chelsea and United tried to sign the 27-year-old last summer before he eventually sealed a £33m move from Tottenham to Madrid.
Modric’s time in La Liga hasn’t quiet gone according to plan though as he’s struggled to hold down a first team place in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven and was recently voted as the worst signing of the season by readers of Spanish paper Marca.
The playmaker did come off the bench to score a superb goal during Real’s controversial 3-2 aggregate win over United in the Champions League last week, but that was a rare highlight in whats been a frustrating campaign so far with the player struggling to recreate his form at Tottenham that earned him a big-money money to the Bernabeu.
