Chelsea Refuse To Include Courtois In Falcao Swap Deal & Slap £17m Price-Tag On His Head
Chelsea have told Atletico Madrid that Thibaut Courtois won’t be any part of any swap deal involving Radamel Falcao and it would take £17m to sign the goalkeeper
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea slap £17m price-tag on Thibaut Courtois’ head.
Chelsea have told Atletico Madrid that Thibaut Courtois won’t be any part of a potential swap deal involving Radamel Falcao and it would take £17m to sign the goalkeeper on a permanent basis, according to the Daily Star.
The Belgian international signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2011 but was immediately sent out on loan to Atletico to gain valuable first team experience. The 21-year-old has excelled in Spain, so-much-so that boss Diego Simone is understood to want to sign the talented stopper on a permanent basis this summer.
However, the Star claim that the Blues see Courtois as the long-term successor to Petr Cech and while they may be willing to let him spend another season on loan, they have told the La Liga outfit it would take a bid of £17m to persuade them into a permanent sale.
The report suggests that Atletico have asked about the possibility of including Courtois in any potential deal involving long-term Chelsea target Radamel Falcao, but the west Londoners are believed to have told them they do not want the former Genk keeper included in any negotiations for the Colombian hitman.

If Chelsea want Falcao and Atletico want Courtois, some sort of swap deal could make sense for both parties but it seems Chelsea’s desire to keep hold of the Belgian youngster may scupper any hopes of it happening.
