Tottenham Hotspur welcome Southampton to White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon looking to maintain their push for a top-four finish this season.
Boss Andre Villas-Boas has given TottenhamHotspur.com a team news and injury update ahead of the game with the latest on Emmanuel Adebayor and Mousa Dembele’s fitness.
Striker Adebayor missed last weeks 2-2 draw with Wigan Athletic due to a knee problem but AVB confirmed that the Togo hitman has returned to training this week so is back in contention to face the Saints this weekend.
Midfielder Dembele was forced off against the Latics last time out with a muscle injury but the Spurs boss confirmed he’s making good progress in training and he’ll make a late check on the Belgian’s fitness on Friday before making a decision over his involvement on Saturday.
“Ade is back in training, so back in contention for the game,”
“We have to see Mousa in training tomorrow and we can assess his chances better then. He’s made good progress and run at different intensities, so hopefully we can have him back.” Villas-Boas told TottenhamHotspur.com
AVB also told the clubs official website that Jake Livermore was unavailable last week due to a small muscle tear and he joins Sandro, William Gallas and Younes Kaboul on the sidelines.
