Chelsea and Man Utd look set to miss out on Radamel Falcao with the Atletico Madrid striker set to make a shock £50m move to big-spending French outfit Monaco.
With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, is Radamel Falcao off to Monaco?
Chelsea and Manchester United look set to miss out on Radamel Falcao with the Express reporting that the Atletico Madrid striker is set for a shock £50m move to big-spending French outfit Monaco.
Falcao has become one of the hottest strikers in world football since moving to Madrid from Porto in 2011, scoring 69 goals in 87 appearances so far, and his form has attracted interest from throughout Europe.
The Express claims that Chelsea and United have held a long-term interest in the Colombian hitman while the likes of PSG and Real Madrid are also understood to be keeping an eye on the 27-year-old ahead of a potential summer move away from the Vicente Calderon.
However, the report suggests ambitious Monaco have jumped to the front of the queue and are tipped to tie up a €60m (£50.7m) deal for Falcao before the end of the season.
Monaco are on the verge of sealing promotion back to Ligue 1 and are expected to spend big this summer with the club back by billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, and manager Claudio Ranieri seemingly has his eye on some big name targets.
Sealing a deal for Falcao would not only be a huge coup for the French outfit but it would also be a major blow to the likes of Chelsea and United.
