Man Utd’s £17m Move For Alcantara Set To Be Hijacked?

European Champions Bayern Munich could be set to hijack Manchester United’s move for Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, according to reports on Tuesday.

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, could Bayern Munich hijack Man Utd’s move for Thiago Alcantara?

Bayern Munich could be set to hijack Manchester United’s move for Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, according to the Daily Star.

The 22-year-old starlet has been widely tipped to leave the Nou Camp this summer after struggling to force his way into Tito Vilanova’s starting eleven on a regular basis with the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Alcantara has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest properties after playing a starring role for Spain during this summers European Under-21 Championship triumph, with the Star claiming the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been keen on luring him away from Spain this summer.

David Moyes’ men appeared to be the favourites to land the exciting playmaker, with widespread reports in recent days suggesting Old Trafford was likely to be the midfielders next destination and a £17m move was expected to be concluded within a matter of days.

However, the Star are now citing reports emanating from Spain that suggest European Champions Bayern Munich are ready to hijack the deal with new manager Pep Guardiola understood to be keen on taking the youngster to the Allianz Arena.

The idea of working with former boss Guardiola in Germany is sure to be a tempting prospect for the Spanish international and it’s also claimed in the report that Barcelona haven’t given up trying to persuade him to stay and will hold final talks when he returns to pre-season training later this week.

So it looks as though United still have a few hurdles to overcome before they get their hands on one of the most highly-rated midfielders in Europe.

Let them have him if they stand to be more likely to have him, since man u or moyes cannot stand the chance to have him since this rumours started. Just tired of all this news things, all we want is not stories anymore but signatures

I have learnt not to put my heart on any Man Utd transfer target. I have received enough heartbreaks from the previous experiences. I only wait until i see a player in Old Traford before i celebrate him as her player. This is not strange experince. Up United!

David moyes want to fall united, is not interested in buying any player. We need a creatve mildfilder, now we av de opptunity is not saying anytin about de player, he wants used de method he using at everton not winning trophies always 6th to 7th in the league. I will goin to be happi if he didnt sign tiago. A buyout clause of €17m is too big for moyes not to sign tiago while, wen barca nd madrid jst splashed de cash of 52 to 30m for jst one player.

Hey moyes! What’s going on? What are u thinking? Dis is manutd not Everton, pls dnt use d method of Everton here bcos u wil just remove d name united frm d club. We need Thiago at manutd dis season, if u dn’t sign him dat means dis season there wil b no trouphy. B careful if not d fans wil soon dislike u. We need dat Thiago dis season pls. Stop keeping us in suspense. Thanks as u go for d signature and not rumour.

I think this is not moyes’ fate, man u has always been lazy when it comes to transfer window we deem not I need to compete in spending a lot claiming man u not the club of that type and ultimately we end loosing very creative players such as hazard, moura, silva, ozil and now alcantara.Damn it we are tired of you.

The spelling and grammar posted is nothing short of disgraceful. Does Manchester United have the most illiterate fans in the world? It would seem that way with the sheer number of idiots who posted already. You guys need to worry about education and not who United are buying.
