Rooney ‘Open’ To Arsenal Or Chelsea Move After Being Left ‘Angry & Confused’ By Utd

Wayne Rooney’s future has been plunged into doubt with the striker looking to leave Old Trafford after being left angry and frustrated at Utd’s latest comments

With the summer transfer window now open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Wayne Rooney has put his Man Utd future in further doubt.

Wayne Rooney’s future has been plunged into further doubt with the striker looking to leave Old Trafford after being left ‘angry and frustrated’ at Manchester United’s latest comments, according to Sky Sports News.

Sky Sports sources have told reporter Kaveh Solhekol that the 27-year-old striker feels he is in the prime of his career and doesn’t think he should be regarded as second choice to any player, and has been left ‘angry and confused’ by how he’s been treated by the club. A source told Sky Sports:

“Rooney believes he is at the peak of his career and has no intention of becoming a squad rotation player or by playing second fiddle to anyone at Old Trafford.

“He believes he has nothing left to prove after nine successful seasons – yet that is what is being suggested by reports in the media which have interpreted the club’s statement as meaning he’s currently on trial for the coming season.

“Since he’s returned from the pre-season tour due to injury, Rooney has been in touch with the club and spoken to David Moyes on the phone – he is angry and confused at the way he’s been treated.”

Solhekol also claims his sources have indicated that Rooney is so unhappy that he will now look for a move this summer and is open to the idea of moving to London, with Arsenal and Chelsea strongly linked with a move for the striker in recent weeks.

Rooney flew home from United’s pre-season tour of the Far East with an apparent hamstring problem that United claimed would keep him out for 4 weeks, but Sky Sports claim he expects to be fit for the start of the new season.

The comments that appear to have riled Rooney came from United manager David Moyes, who hinted at the weekend that the former Everton man is seen as a back-up to Robin Van Persie and reminded the player that he isn’t bigger than the club.

“Overall, my thought on Wayne is, if for any reasons we had an injury to Robin van Persie, we’ll need him.

“Wayne can play up on his own, he can play dropped in. It’s going to be a time to see how I work with Wayne.

“Manchester United isn’t about Wayne Rooney. Manchester United is about the team – the club.

“I won’t allow Wayne Rooney to become more important than the football club and the football team, because that’s the heart of it.” Moyes is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

Rooney has two years left to run on his United contract and he may also have been angered by chief executive Ed Woodward comments when he claimed an extension wasn’t on the agenda and the club were prepared to let him run down his current deal.

“No contract renewals are being discussed. I am not sitting down with any player on an extension and there is no trigger date in the diary.

“Would we be afraid to run a contract down? Of course not.” Woodward is quoted as saying by Sky Sports

While Rooney has stopped short of releasing any official statement, it seems he’s ‘leaked’ his unhappiness out to the press and it will be interesting to see where things go from here and how United will respond. Arsenal and Chelsea will be keeping a close eye on developments, that’s for sure, with Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho likely to offer the England ace an escape route to London if he manages to force a way out of Manchester this summer.

I would love to see him at Arsenal, but we can’t afford his wages. He will end up at Chelsea Oil Club and that means they will win the Premier league title.

Would love to c wayne r at the mighty gooners yeah we aint won anything in 8 years but Imo that is all about to change. Adding rooney to wilshere walcott Chamberlain will be even beter for england aswell there have a year to get even beter with each other n rooney will b looki g to prove a point especially with the would cup on the horizon. If we can sort something out with his wages give him a big signing on fee then a good wage not stupid wage a good 1. Him cesc n a cb watch teams look at us with fear again. Imo its out of us n chelsea n every ime we plah chelsea its been a decent striker weve lost because of. Best years r still in front of u roo ey come make more history with us good luck this season boys were b there with u as ur 12 th man

    1. Things really unstable @ man utd. The Rooney Dynamic is surely to unsettle the overall club’s stability. Definitely he is going before the window closes.

    2. Arsenal don’t have the wage package to suit a player like Rooney, but then again, if they can make an insane bid for Suarez, surely they have found themselves in some form of liquidity. Maybe the transfer is possible.

    3. Chelsea Ofcourse have the financial means to accommodate such a transfer. The real questions are, does the player management style of crazy lad mourinho suit a player like Rooney? Will the fight for a start with abramovic favorite and most notably ‘in form’ Torres ensue, leaving Rooney with the same problem he is facing or is he gonna be assured a start?

Arsenal is the world 4th richest club mate. We had a bit of a debt which v are through with. Now we can afford to loosen our belts. Spend more and change our wage policy. It’s not like we don’t have a wage package that can’t support a player like Rooney.

Wayne Rooney is one of d best striker in d world if not d best & its very surprising things 2 hear that such player is being bench in any club is very ridiculous. So, I wish Rooney can 4get about Man U only 2 come 2 us 4 regular 1st eleven playing time. Though, I’m not d manager but i’m very sure.

To me am sure Wayn Rooney wont join any of England clubs if only any club like Barca,Real bring in their bids then he will go especialy that we need CescFabrigas from Barca he sh’d be used in exchange.
