Luis Suarez will try to force a £40m move to Arsenal this week with the striker understood to be furious with Liverpool’s hierarchy over broken promises, according to the Mirror.

The report claims the Uruguayan hitman is ready to increase his efforts to push through a move to north London after Liverpool chiefs reneged on a verbal agreement to sell the striker to a club in the Champions League, and he and his advisers are now considering legal action, taking their case to Premier League arbitration and will even hand in a transfer request if needs be.

Suarez was the only member of Liverpool’s first team squad not to attend Steven Gerrard’s testimonial dinner on Sunday night despite receiving a warm reception from the Anfield faithful during a 2-0 win over Olympiakos, and this was another sure sign of his discontent at the club.

The saga could now get messy as Suarez’s camp are adamant that Arsenal’s £40,000,001 bid entitles them to hold formal talks with the Gunners but the Merseysiders insist they are under no obligation to allow him to do so or to accept any offer.

The Mirror suggest that Arsene Wenger is reluctant to make any further bid until the events of this week play out but the Frenchman is thought to be growing increasingly confident he can get his man as Suarez’s determination to leave Anfield grows.

Publicly, Liverpool insist they are not interested in selling the controversial striker but it remains to be seen whether Brendan Rodgers will be able to keep hold of an unsettled player who seems intent on leaving this summer.

For me Arsene Wenger is not a coach rather a business manager with selfish interest. He is like dog that can bark but never bit. What is toping him to sign Luis Gustavo or fellaini, that is were our problem rises much (defensive midfither)

I love Luis. But if he didn’t turn up to Gerrards testimonial because he wants out, then he’s finished. He can f**k off. No respect.

I am a liverpool fan. My question is, has wenger being able to employ the services of a psychologist to work on suariz’s temporament on the pitch? Not buying suariz is the issue, but what follows after.

I Love Liverpool.I think Wenger is going mad he helped Manu to win title when he sold Van Perssie Last season and now he wants Suarez.Ok if Suarez wants to go no problem but outside England.YOU’LL NEVER WALK ALONE.One thing Suarez is not Liverpool

That is what i hate about English clubs fans, there is absolute no need abusing or insulting any coach. If Liverpool do not want to sale its okay. Suarez can remain in Liverpool or join Arsenal cos its pretty senseless holding a player against his will. This is one of the reasons why Spanish and Germany clubs will continue to dominate in the coming years

    Yes, He can and should.
Liverpool appear to have no choice. Do they really expect the world, or the Courts, to believe that Luis insisted on a clause to be put in his’ contract which was meaningless? The intention is clear to all the world except LFC. Grow up Liverpool, and stop bringing a great club into disrepute.
Furthermore, don’t they understand that denying a move to a competitor is a punishable Restraint of Trade?
Comparing Luis’ to Bale’s evaluations are meaningless and silly. Bale’s offer does not mean he’s worth that money anyway! LFC should not be valuing Luis upward to match Bale, but Bale should be devalued down to Luis’ true value – £40m TOPS!
Messrs. Liddel and Shanks would cringe at the way you’re behaving.

I think it is logical if arsenal wants a throphy, they must sign suarez, Rooney and williams. And if they want number 4 throphy they should sign the likes of yaya sanago and only spread romour in magazine and websites.

I think sombdy needs to wake ARSEN WENGER up cos he seams confortably dreaming. And how on earth do arsenal fans think that the ECCONOMIC MASTER will succeed in bringing Suarez to emirate? 1. He can only afford free transfer. 2. Suarez has no right to force his way out n will completly fall flat with ARSEN WENGER in the court. 3. Evry club else can b well-comd if LIVERPOOL decides to sell but never a rival like ARSENAL!!! I’m personally convised that suarez is starting with liverpool come next season cos LIVERPOOL are extra ready to go to any level of case with whosoever dare!
