Arsene Wenger has revealed Arsenal have been handed a double injury boost ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Fulham, with Nacho Monreal and Tomas Rosicky expected to be passed fit.

The boss reported yesterday that the duo were major doubts after picking up injuries against Aston Villa on Monday night, but it seems their condition has improved over the last 24 hours.

Monreal was forced off against Villa after a clash with Ron Vlaar and initially it was feared he had suffered a broken metatarsal. Thankfully, Wenger revealed on Thursday that it was nothing more than a twisted ankle but he still felt the Spaniard would be short this weekend.

However, speaking at his press conference this morning, the boss said that he’s expecting the full-back to be available.

There is also positive news on Rosicky with the Czech midfielder also likely to be in the squad, despite having surgery to reset his broken nose which was picked up against Villa earlier in the week.

Wenger confirmed the 33-year-old will train with a mask today and if he feels comfortable enough, he’ll be in contention tomorrow.

It will be a major boost to have the duo available as the injury list is extensive at present. Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey, Thomas Vermaelen, Theo Walcott, Nicklas Bendtner, Abou Diaby and Yaya Sanogo are already ruled out, so to have Rosicky and Monreal also on the sidelines would leave us extremely thin for the Fulham game.

But it looks like the pair will be available and I’d guess they will both be on the bench this weekend with Wenger unlikely to take too many risks with them.
