Tottenham vs Everton Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Ups, Key Man + Predicted Score
Tottenham Hotspur welcome Everton to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon. Here is a match preview with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score.
Tottenham Hotspur welcome Everton to White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon with both sides looking to boost their top four hopes.
Spurs six sixth in the Premier League table, just a single points behind Everton, but with fourth-placed Liverpool extending their lead to five points following their impressive win over leaders Arsenal earlier today, it leaves both sides desperate for all three points in order to keep in touch with the top four.
Tim Sherwood’s men had to come from behind to salvage a 1-1 draw at Hull City last weekend while the Toffees will be looking to bounce back following their 4-0 thrashing at Anfield in the Merseyside derby.
Team News
Tottenham welcome Andros Townsend and Mousa Dembele back in to the squad. Townsend hasn’t featured for over seven weeks due to a hamstring strain but could make the bench tomorrow.
Dembele was forced to miss the game at the DW Stadium last week with a minor knock but could replace Nabil Bentaleb in midfield, while Younes Kaboul is also pushing for a recall.
However, while Sandro and Erik Lamela are both also close to making a comeback, this clash comes too soon.
Roberto Martinez is expected to recall Seamus Coleman for the game after he returned to the squad last week. Gerard Deulofeu is also pushing for a start after recovering from a hamstring injury.
January loan signing Lacina Troare could be in contention but defender Anolin Alcaraz remains out through injury and he joins Romelu Lukaku on the sidelines.
Likely Line-Ups
Key Man
Emmanuel Adebayor: The striker has been blowing hot and cold this season but Sherwood will need a performance from him tomorrow. Adebayor has the ability to be a match winner when he’s up for it, so Spurs will be looking to him to cause Distin and Jagielka problems.
Predicted Score
Tottenham 1-1 Everton: We can see Everton heading back up to Merseyside with a well-earned point tomorrow.
