Liverpool + Tottenham Tipped To Renew Interest In Spanish Forward
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have been tipped by to renew their interest in a Barcelona forward at the end of the season. Find out who the player is here.
The January transfer window may have slammed shut but clubs will still be working hard behind the scenes at identifying targets for the summer, so we’ll bring you all the latest news, gossip and rumours. Today, could Bojan Krkic be heading to the Premier League?
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have been tipped by talkSPORT to renew their interest in on-loan Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic at the end of the season.
Despite being just 23, the one-time Spanish international has been around the block in recent years and it seems he could be on the move once again this summer.
Krkic began his career at Barcelona and came through their youth system before breaking into the first team set up in 2007. He soon cemented himself as a regular and scored 41 goals in 162 appearances for the Catalans before losing his place in the starting eleven in 2011.
This led to a permanent move to AS Roma but his time there was short-lived and after Krkic scored 7 goals in 33 appearances, he was sent out on loan to AC Milan where he spent a frustrating 12 months before Barcelona exercised a buy-back clause to re-sign the forward in 2013.
However, Krkic once again found himself farmed out on loan, this time to Ajax, and he’s failed to settle in Holland, scoring just twice in 13 appearances, making it highly unlikely the Dutch giants will make the move permanent at the end of the season and the player has now admitted he’ll consider his options this summer.
“We will see about my future. There are two months left of the season and then I will make my decisions.” Krkic is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
With the player unlikely to make it at Barca, given the array of attacking talent on offer at the Nou Camp, it looks like he’ll be on the market again this summer and talkSPORT have tipped Liverpool and Tottenham to renew their interest after failing to land him last summer when he opted to join Ajax.
Krkic has failed to live up to his promise in Italy or Holland since leaving Barcelona in 2011, so perhaps it’s time he tried his luck in the Premier League. Whether he’d fair any better remains to be seen but he could turn out to be an astute addition if either Liverpool or Spurs could land him on a season-long loan deal.
He showed he has quality during his time at Barcelona and it seems the attacker just needs to regain his confidence and find a manager who trusts him, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up this summer.
