Arsenal vs Stoke Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Ups, Prediction & Betting Tips

Arsenal take on Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a preview with team news, line-up, predicted score and betting tips.

arsenal news

Arsenal will hoping to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when we welcome Stoke City to the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

We slumped to a disappointing 2-0 loss away at Southampton last time out in the league and although we bounced back with a comfortable 2-0 win over Hull City in FA Cup last Sunday, Arsene Wenger will be desperate to get back on track in our search for the top four.

The wounds are still hurting from our 3-2 defeat at the Britannia last month so the boys will hopefully use that loss as motivation to ensure we come away with all three points this time around.

We should be confident as we’ve got an excellent home record against Stoke, losing just once in the last 27 meetings and winning the last 12 on the bounce, but we know they are a dangerous side so should be taking nothing for granted.

We head into the game sitting down in sixth place in the table and with Manchester United hosting Southampton in Sunday’s other big game, we’ve got a great opportunity to close-in on those ahead of us.

Team news

Our injury problems look to be finally easing as Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey are back in contention for tomorrow’s game.

Ramsey could return to the starting eleven after recovering from a hamstring strain that’s kept him out for a month but Ozil may have to make do with a place on the bench after being on the sidelines for over three months with a serious knee injury.

It will be interesting to see who Arsene Wenger selects in goal after Wojciech Szczesny’s poor display against Southampton but I think the Polish international will be recalled with David Ospina dropping to the bench.

Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere remain on the sidelines while Danny Welbeck is still a week away from recovering from a thigh injury, but Olivier Giroud returns after serving his three-match ban.

Stoke have been boosted by the return to fitness of Marc Muniesa, Victor Moses and Bojan Krkic with all three expected to play some part in the game.

Germany international Philipp Wollscheid is also in contention after signing on loan but may have to make do with a place on the bench.

Mame Biram Diouf is on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Senegal.

Likely Line-Ups

Predicted Score

Arsenal 2-0: Stoke: We have a tough time playing Stoke at the Britannia but it’s a different story at home and I expect us to ease to a 2-0 win tomorrow.

Betting Tips

Arsenal are the heavy favourites to win the game on Sunday but thanks to Football-Talk you can get enhanced odds of 3/1 on a Gunners victory with Betfair while you can also win £100 worth of free bets. A 2-0 win is on offer at 7/1 while I also like the look of Alexis Sanchez to open the scoring at 9/2. If we combine those two bets in a scorecast then we get very tempting odds of 16/1. Surely that’s got to be worth a couple of quid!?
