Potter To Make 2 Key Changes | Expected Swansea City Line-Up vs Aston Villa

Swansea City will be looking to close-in on the play-off places with a win when they take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Swans head in to the game sitting 11th in the Championship table following their 3-2 defeat to Ipswich last week but are just two points off the play offs so Graham Potter will be keen to come away with a positive result from Villa tomorrow.

Swansea are priced at 16/5 with the bookmakers to win the game, which looks like decent odds considering they’ll be up against a struggling Villa side who have only won one of their last 11 games. The Welsh outfit have also impressed away from home this season having lost just once on the road so Swansea will be confident of getting a result this weekend.

However, form could go out the window tomorrow as it will be Dean Smith’s first game in charge since being installed as the new Villa manager so punters may be tempted to back the home side at odds of 20/23.

Potter has no fresh injury concerns to deal with so here is the team we think the Swansea boss will select tomorrow:

Goalkeeper: Kristoffer Nordfeldt appears to have cemented himself as the number one so we expect he’ll keep his place ahead of Erwin Mulder between the sticks.

Defence: Former Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton is almost certain to keep his place at right-back as he’s been virtually ever-present this season while Mike van der Hoorn will once again start in the middle of defence alongside Joe Rondon.

Matt Grimes was deployed at left-back against Ipswich but Potter may feel they need to mix things up after conceding three disappointing goals last time out so Martin Olsson could be recalled against Villa.

Midfield: Grimes may therefore move back in to a more familiar central midfield position with youngster George Byers the man most likely to make way. Bersant Celina should keep his place in the team after getting himself on the score-sheet against Ipswich while Tom Carroll will once again start in the holding role after making a successful return from a groin injury.

Connor Roberts has been doing well in a more advanced role on the right wing this season so he should continue in that position but we could see Barrie McKay getting a recall on the oppsite flank with Daniel James making way.

Attack: There is little doubt who will start up front as Oliver McBurnie is expected to once again lead the line up front and he’ll be looking to add to his four goals so far this season.
