Liverpool will look to cement their position at the top of the table with a win over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon. Here is the team we expect Jurgen Klopp to select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Klopp is set to ring the changes from the side that drew 5-5 with Arsenal in the Carabao Cup so Alisson Becker will be recalled in goal with Caoimhin Kelleher making way.

Defence: Liverpool conceded five goals against the Gunners so we shouldn’t expect to see any of the back four retain their place this weekend. Trent Alexander-Arnold is certain to be recalled at right-back with youngster Neco Williams dropping out while Andrew Robertson will come in for James Milner at left-back.

Joe Gomez failed to take his chance to shine in the League Cup so Dejan Lovren is expected to start against Villa with Joel Matip still on the sidelines with a knee injury. Virgil van Dijk is expected to be fit despite picking up a dead leg against Tottenham last weekend.

Midfield: Liverpool will make changes in midfield with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum all set for recalls after being rested for the penalty shoot-out victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a stunner against his former club but he’ll still drop back to the bench this weekend while Adam Lallana is also set to make way after a rare start in the League Cup.

Naby Keita was forced off early in the second half after picking up a knock so he’s a major doubt for the trip to Villa on Saturday. Youngster Curtis Jones could keep his place in the Liverpool squad after impressing off the bench last night.

Attack: Divock Origi made himself the hero once again after scoring twice against the Gunners including a stoppage time equaliser but the Belgian international is still set to drop back to the bench against Villa.

Rhian Brewster and Harvey Elliott will have enjoyed their Anfield debuts in the cup but the youngsters are expected to drop out of the squad this weekend as Klopp recalls his big guns in attack.

Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were all given the night off during the Carabao Cup thriller against Arsenal so they’ll come back into the starting eleven at Villa Park on Saturday.

Here is how I think Liverpool will line up:
