Germany vs Spain: Preview with gambling odds, team news & prediction
International football returns tonight as German take on Spain in their Nations League group stage game. It’s their first outing in over 10 months and the European heavyweights are battling with Switzerland and Ukraine to top Group A4.
Spain comfortably won their last match with a 5-0 victory over Romania back in November 2019 which ensured they topped Group F of their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a record of eight wins and two draws.
Luis Enrique’s side are now unbeaten in 11 matches with their last defeat coming at the hands of Croatia in the last Nations League which saw them finish second behind England, so they’ll be looking to go one better this time around.
Germany also head into tonight’s game in excellent form having won seven of their last eight competitive games so they’ll be looking to maintain that run with an important win over Spain ahead of this weekend’s clash with Switzerland.
Gambling odds
Gambling on this match is going to be tricky as it’s a clash between two heavyweights who are evenly matched so you need to look after your money. You can use casinovibez.com to find regulated gambling sites that will provide you with the most competitive odds and many bookmakers will also have welcome offers for new customers that you can take advantage of.
Germany are the 7/5 favourites to win the game in Stuttgart this evening. Spain can be backed at odds of 2/1 while the draw is available at 5/2 with many bookmakers so there is plenty of value if you predict the correct result.
If I had to pick a side to win it would be Germany but they’ll be without several key players so a draw might be the most likely result. You can back a 1-1 draw at odds of 5/1 and that seems like a solid bet.
Betting on the first goalscorer market can also be profitable and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is a terrific bet at 10/3. If we back Werner to score first in a 1-1 draw we get excellent odds of 33/1.
Germany will be without Manuel Neuer, Josh Kimmich, Serge Gnabry and Leon Goretzka as they’ve been rested after their participation for Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.
Marcel Halstenberg and Lukas Klostermann are also missing but Arsenal’s Bernd Leno could start in goal while Robin Gosens is set to make his debut in defence.
Spain are set to start Thiago Alcantara despite the midfielder playing in the Champions League final and all eyes will be on the Bayern star amid transfer rumours linking him with Liverpool and Man Utd.
Enrique is expected to pick a youthful side with the likes of Ansu Fati, Eric Garcia, Ferran Torres and Oscar Rodriguez all set to feature.
Prediction
Both sides haven’t played for 10 months and the players may be jaded after such a long and interrupted campaign so I’m not expecting a classic. Germany may just edge it against a young Spain side but neither team will want to lose given how tight the group is expected to be, so I’m backing a 1-1 draw. Germany 1-1 Spain.
