Agent Confirms Liverpool Target Is England-Bound Amid Reports Man Utd Agreed Deal

The agent of Liverpool target Firmino has confirmed the Brazilian attacker is heading for England this summer amid reports Manchester United have agreed a deal

As the opening of the summer transfer window approaches, managers are working hard identifying targets and lining-up potential deals so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Firmino is heading to England….

The agent of Liverpool target Firmino has confirmed the Brazilian attacker is heading for England this summer amid reports Manchester United have agreed a deal, according to the Mirror.

Firmino has just come off the back of another excellent campaign in Germany where he scored 10 goals and provided a further 12 assists for Hoffenheim despite the club finishing in a disappointing mid-table position.

That impressive form has led to interest from the Premier League with reports in recent weeks claiming that Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on luring him to England this summer.

The Daily Star then carried a report at the end of last week that claimed the Brazilian attacker was due to have a medical with United after the club had supposedly agreed a £20m deal to sign the 23-year-old.

It remains to be seen how much truth there is behind that particular report but the players agent, Roger Wittmann, has done little to end the speculation after confirming to the media that his client is heading for the Premier League.

When asked for an update on Firmino’s situation, he’s quoted by the Mirror as saying:

“All I can say is that he will go to England.”

It’s going to be extremely interesting to see where the South American ends up this summer but obviously United could be viewed as favourites due to the recent reports suggesting they have agreed a deal.

Louis van Gaal is expected to be busy in the transfer marker this summer and a player like Firmino would be welcomed with open arms at Old Trafford as he has all the tricks you’d expect from a Brazilian international, plus he has the end product to go with it.

I’m sure Liverpool won’t give up without a fight though as Firmino would be an excellent signing for the Merseysiders too and Brendan Rodgers certainly needs to add more creativity to his squad after only registering 52 league goals last season.

Firmino is currently away on international duty at the Copa America so any proposed transfer will most likely have to wait until the end of the tournament, so we may have to wait a few weeks before we find out which English club have won the race for his signature.
