Chelsea kick off their Champions League campaign when they entertain Maccabi Tel Aviv at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

Ahead of the game, Jose Mourinho has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and has given a team news and injury update.

The Blues boss revealed that Radamel Falcao will miss the game tomorrow after picking up a minor tendon injury but the Colombian international is expected to return for Saturday’s clash with Arsenal.

Mourinho also revealed that Oscar is considered fit again after the playmaker returned to full training having not featured since Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City on the opening day of the new season.

The Portuguese coach is quoted as saying by the Express:

“Little problem, a little problem. But nothing important.”

“He’s [Falcao] not in the squad. He had a little problem in some tendon in training, not important. Not for long. Just for this game.”

“Fit, because not injured [Mourinho said on Oscar]. Yes. Fit with condition top? No. But involved in the game. Selected, yes.”

Mourinho was later quoted by the clubs Twitter account as saying that summer signing Baba Rahman will also be involved in tomorrow’s game, but we’ll have to see whether either player he or Oscar are selected from the start.

Ramires could be another who makes his return to the squad as the Brazilian was also back in training at Cobham today. The midfielder hasn’t been seen since being forced off against Manchester City last month.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is a long-term injury concern so he’ll miss the game along with defender Papy Djilobodji – cannot play as he was not included in the Champions League squad following his move from Nantes.
