[Video Highlights] Dynamo Kiev: Hazard & Willian Hit The Woodwork As Blues Held

By on October 20, 2015

Chelsea struck the woodwork twice and were denied a penalty as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Dynamo Moscow on Tuesday night.

Eden Hazard was recalled to the starting eleven and the Belgian almost gave the Blues the perfect start but saw his effort cannon off the post in the 8th minute.

Diego Costa then somehow failed to get on the end of a dangerous Willian free-kick before the referee waived away appeals for a penalty after Cesc Fabregas went down in the box.

Nemanja Matic went close to opening the scoring in the 20th minute while Kiev almost found an unlikely goal at the other end just minutes later with a deflected effort.

After a goalless first half, Willian almost found the breakthrough after seeing his free-kick come off the underside of the bar shortly after half-time.

Asmir Begovic was called into action mid-way through the second period after a swift breakaway from the hosts but Chelsea just couldn’t find a way through and had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

The result leaves Jose Mourinho’s side sitting third in Group G on four points and three points behind leaders FC Porto – who beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 2-0 in tonight’s other group game.
