Man Utd Set To Table £25m Bid For Brazilian International

Manchester United are set to test Monaco’s resolve with a £25m bid for Brazilian international right-back Fabinho, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli via the Mirror.
Mourinho has already brought in three new players this summer and is looking to sign a big-money central midfielder but the Portuguese coach is also understood to be in the market for a new right-back.
The right side of defence has been something of a problem area for United in recent years and Italian international Matteo Darmian failed to make the position his own following his move from Torino last summer.
It looks like Mourinho is wanting to bring in his own signing to fill the troublesome position and the Mirror are citing Emanuele Giulianelli as saying that the former Chelsea boss is now ready to formalise his interest in Fabinho.
The Italian journalist claims that United will submit a £25m offer to AS Monaco over the coming days and while the Ligue 1 club will be disappointed to lose the player, Giulianelli expects Fabinho to end up moving to Old Trafford this summer.
The 22-year-old has developed in to one of the best full-backs in Ligue 1 since joining Monaco in 2013 and showed off his attacking instincts last season after scoring six goals for the French outfit.
Fabinho has earned four caps for Brazil so far but has been unable to displace Dani Alvez as the number one right-back meaning he could have problems gaining a work permit – although under new rules the large transfer fee will go in United’s favour.
The defender’s agent is Jorge Mendes – who also represents Mourinho – so I’m sure the United boss will be using his connections to try and make sure the deal goes through smoothly.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but Fabinho would be an excellent addition for United if they could get the deal wrapped-up and his arrival would be another piece in Mourinho’s jigsaw.
