The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Jetro Willems has refused to rule out joining Liverpool….

Jetro Willems has refused to rule out a move to Liverpool this summer amid rumours the Reds are lining-up a £13m bid for the PSV Eindhoven full-back, according to the Mirror.

Jurgen Klopp has been extremely active in the market so far after bringing in seven new signings with Georginio Wijnaldum recently joining Marko Grujic, Sadio Mane, Alex Manninger, Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Loris Karius in making the move to Anfield.

However, with Brad Smith off to Bournemouth, Klopp is expected to sign a new left-back over the coming weeks to compete with Alberto Moreno – who’s been widely criticised for his defensive capabilities since joining from Sevilla two years ago.

Willems has emerged as a likely target with the Liverpool Echo reporting last week that Liverpool were lining-up a £13m bid for the PSV Eindhoven defender after Ben Chilwell signed a new contract with Leicester City.

The 22-year-old now refused to rule out a move to Anfield this summer but has warned Klopp that there are plenty of clubs in the running for his signature. When quizzed about a potential move to Liverpool after PSV’s 1-0 win over Feyenoord in the Johan Cruyff Shield on Sunday, Willems is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“There are a number of clubs that have been in touch,”

“We are looking at my options. I don’t know whether I will be gone by the time the Eredivisie season has started, but things will be alright, I am not overly worried about that.

“I am focused on PSV for now. We won another trophy today, silverware just keeps coming.”

Willems has developed in to one of the best full-backs in the Eredivisie since joining PSV in 2011 and he’s also established himself as a regular in the Dutch national team with 20 caps to his name already.

The former Sparta Rotterdam defender saw the first half of last season blighted by a serious injury but Willems recovered to play a major part during the second half of the campaign to help PSV snatch the title ahead of Ajax.

The youngster has just one year left on his current contract so unless an extension is signed soon, PSV will find it extremely difficult to turn down Liverpool’s bid if they do submit a £13m offer this summer.
