Man Utd Join Arsenal & Liverpool In Race To Sign Highly-Rated Defender

Manchester United have joined rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign one of England’s most highly-rated young defenders.

The transfer window is now drawing to a close so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, the race for Ryan Sessegnon hots-up…

Manchester United have joined the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign highly-rated Fulham defender Ryan Sessegnon this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Sessegnon has progressed through the Fulham youth academy since joining the club at eight years old and made his Championship debut last week during a 1-1 draw against Leeds United.

The 16-year-old is considered as one of the brightest prospects outside of the top flight and he created history by becoming the Championships youngest ever goal-scorer after finding the net during the Cottagers 2-1 win over Cardiff City last Saturday.

Sessegnon’s potential has attracted interest from a whole host of Premier League clubs with the Daily Mail claiming that Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have all been keeping a close eye on the left-back’s progress ahead of potential late swoops this month.

Arsenal and Spurs are expected to be active during the closing stages of the window while Liverpool supporters are crying out for Jurgen Klopp to bring in another left-back to compete with Alberto Moreno and Sessegnon appears to be on their radar.

However, it looks as though the trio will now face stiff competition as the newspaper report suggests that Man Utd have now joined the race for Sessegnon’s signature after sending scouts to watch the talented teenager in action.

Jose Mourinho has been active bringing in some top class players this summer but the Portuguese coach insists he’s not going to ignore the clubs youth policy so it looks like he’s ready to prove that by bringing one of England’s hottest young talents to Old Trafford.

The youngster has already represented England at Under-17 level so Sessegnon looks to have a bright future ahead of him but the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and United may have a fight on their hands luring him away from Craven Cottage as the Daily Mail claim that Fulham have made it clear they aren’t interested in selling this summer.

We’ll have to wait and see whether any of the Premier League big-hitters test their resolve with a formal offer but it would be something of a coup if any of Arsenal, Liverpool or United were able to land Sessegnon before the window closes next week.
