Manchester United will be looking to kick start their Europa League campaign when they entertain Zorya Luhansk at Old Trafford this evening.

Jose Mourinho has already admitted that the Europa League isn’t the competition a club of United’s stature should be playing in and he suggested it’s not going to be his priority after picking a weakened side for the 1-0 defeat at Feyenoord two weeks ago.

However, with an international break coming up after Sunday’s Premier League clash with Stoke City, Mourinho has now hinted that he’ll field a far stronger side for tonight’s clash with Ukrainian outfit Zorya.

The Red Devils warmed up for the game with an impressive 4-1 victory over defending champions Leicester City on Saturday so Mourinho will be hoping for another similar performances tonight.

Team news

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is back in full training after recovering from a niggling thigh injury but the Armenian international is not ready to make his return just yet so he’ll remain on the sidelines with Phil Jones – who’s still out with a knee injury.

Mourinho has confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will start the game after being benched for the Feyenoord clash but Wayne Rooney is unlikely to be risked from the start due to a minor back complaint.

Luke Shaw is also missing due to illness but Anthony Martial is available for selection after recovering from a minor calf/ankle problem that kept him out of the Leicester victory.

Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo could come in to the defence while Morgan Schneiderlin is also pushing for a recall in midfield.

Man Utd 4-0: The hosts hit top form against Leicester at the weekend and if they play anything like they did that day, then Zorya are in for a long night. It’s a big occasion for the Ukrainian minnows but I can’t see past anything other than a comfortable United win.
