Chelsea moved six points clear at the top of the Premier League table after beating Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of Light this evening.

Cesc Fabregas was recalled to the starting eleven and he repaid Antonio Conte’s faith after opening the scoring shortly before half-time when the Spaniard curled home in to the bottom corner after being teed-up by Willian in the 40th minute.

Thibaut Courtois then pulled off a vital save at the start of the second half as the Belgian international made a smart save with his feet to deny Adnan Januzaj an equaliser.

Willian then almost made it 2-0 when he clipped the bar before Victor Moses also went close to sealing the win for Chelsea but they held on to secure yet another three points.

It means Conte’s men have now won their last ten games on the bounce and move six points clear at the top of the table.
