Manchester United consigned former boss David Moyes to another defeat after easing to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford this afternoon.

United were being frustrated during the opening stages of the game and just as it looked as though they were going in to the break at 0-0, the hosts broke the deadlock when Daley Blind drilled home after being teed-up by Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 40th minute.

The Swedish international then made it 2-0 with a cool finish in the 82nd minute before Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored s stunning backheel to make it 3-0 just minutes later – although replay’s showed he was just offside.

Sunderland pulled one back in stoppage time as Fabio Borini lashed home a superb long-range strike for 3-1 but United secured the win that sees them move level on points with Tottenham and to within just 3 of fourth-placed Man City.
