Arsenal, Man Utd & Chelsea Told They Can Sign Attacker In £100m Deal

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have been told by Bayer Leverkusen they can sign Leon Bailey but only if they put £100m on the table this summer.

The January transfer window in now closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, the latest on Leon Bailey…

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have been told by Bayer Leverkusen they can sign Leon Bailey but only if they put £100m on the table this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.

Bailey made his name in Belgium during an impressive two-year spell at Genk before joining Leverkusen in January 2017 for an initial fee worth in the region of £12.4m.

The 20-year-old has continued to develop a reputation as one of the most exciting young attackers in European football over the past year with Bailey becoming a vital part of Leverkusen’s starting eleven.

The Jamaican youngster has provided 10 goals and 5 assists in his 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season to help Leverkusen push for a top four finish in the Bundesliga.

His impressive form has caught the attention of clubs here in the Premier League with TeamTalk claiming that Arsenal, Chelsea and United have all been showing a keen interest in Bailey ahead of summer swoops.

Arsene Wenger revamped his attack in January but the Arsenal boss is yet to replace Theo Walcott following his move to Everton and Bailey is seemingly on the Frenchman’s radar.

Jose Mourinho snapped-up Alexis Sanchez last month but the United boss is still looking to further strengthen his attacking options this summer while Chelsea are also expected to dip in to the transfer market after a frustrating campaign.

The English trio are keen on luring Bailey to the Premier League but TeamTalk are citing a report from Kicker that claims Leverkusen have made it clear they aren’t prepared to let their star man leave on the cheap.

Bailey is under contract until 2022 so Leverkusen are under no pressure to sell and the German publication says they have told the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and United they will need to pay around £100m to land the winger this summer.

The youngster would no doubt be an exciting signing but I personally don’t see any of the English trio paying that kind of money for Bailey just yet so unless Leverkusen lower their demands I don’t think we’ll see him coming to the Premier League any time soon.
