Liverpool Team News: Klopp Offers Positive Fitness Update Ahead Of West Ham Clash

Jurgen Klopp has offered a positive team news and injury update ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with West Ham this weekend.

Liverpool will be looking to move up to second in the Premier League table with a win when they take on West Ham at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s provided a team news and injury update ahead of the game.

The Reds boss was pleased to confirm that he has no fresh injury concerns to worry about so he has virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from against the Hammers this weekend.

Liverpool’s last outing came 10 days ago when they thrashed Porto 5-0 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie and the squad then headed off on a warm weather training camp in Marbella.

The Merseysiders have reported a clean bill of health and while Klopp says they have a few minor stomach issues to look in to, he doesn’t expect any of his players to be doubts against West Ham tomorrow afternoon.

He told Liverpoolfc.com:

““Not really in this moment. Little things always; little stomach [problem] here and there, but should be OK. Nobody said today to me that they are still out, but we had one or two players with little issues. Stomach-wise, they should be OK, hopefully.

“[Nobody is a real doubt] in the moment, no.”

Nathaniel Clyne is pushing for a recall to the squad for the first time since recovering from a back injury that’s kept him on the sidelines for the entire season so far but he’ll face a tough time displacing Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold as they’ve both performed well in his absence.

Liverpool head in to the weekend action sitting third in the table but they are just two points adrift of Manchester United so they can move up to second with a win tomorrow ahead of United’s clash with Chelsea on Sunday.
