Czech Star Will ‘Definitely’ Hold Talks With Arsenal About Move To North London

The transfer window is closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Jakub Jankto will hold transfer talks with Arsenal…

The agent of Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto has confirmed they will hold talks with Arsenal about a potential summer move to the Emirates, according to the Metro.

Jankto joined the Udinese youth set-up in 2014 having spent the early stages of his career in his homeland with Czech Republic side Slavia Prague.

The 22-year-old has broken in to the first team set-up and has become a regular this season having started 21 of their 26 Serie A games so far with the midfielder chipping in with 3 goals and 4 assists.

Arsenal have long been linked with a move for the Czech midfielder – who has 10 caps for the national team – but Jankto has so far remained at Udinese to continue his development.

However, that’s set to change this summer as his agent, Giuseppe Riso, has suggested that Jankto will consider his future at the Stadio Friuli at the end of the season.

And a move to the Emirates could be on the cards as Riso has confirmed they will ‘definitely’ hold talks with Arsenal about a move to north London – although we’ll face stiff competition from AC Milan.

Riso is quoted as saying by the Metro:

‘They’re eligible teams. Jankto is an important profile, we decided with the Pozzos not to talk about it in January to let him grow and mature.

‘Milan and Arsenal are attentive to youngsters, we’ll definitely talk with them.’

Arsene Wenger’s future at the club is in serious doubt following a disastrous season but whoever is in charge this summer is expected to be in the market for at least one central midfielder.

Santi Cazorla’s career is in doubt due to a serious injury, Jack Wilshere is no closer to signing a new contract while Aaron Ramsey will have just one year left on his deal this summer.

Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny have also been disappointing signings so I think we need to overhaul our midfield options and it looks like Jankto is on our radar.
