REPORTS: Arsenal To Seal £28m Hazard Deal In January

By on September 5, 2011

Arsenal nearly completed the signing of Lille winger Eden Hazard this summer according to reports.

The Belgian wide man has been touted as one of Europe’s most promising youngsters and linked with several clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

The 20-year old is rated at around £28million and the two clubs had agreed a deal according to the Daily Star but the French champions were unable to find a suitable replacement in time. Wenger is expected to go back in for Hazard when the transfer window reopens in January.

“The deal was very close to happening but it couldn’t be done in time,” said an Emirates source.

“Negotiating had all but been done but Lille didn’t have a suitable player to come in for Hazard so it fell short.

“But Arsene will make it come January.”

If Hazard coming that mean arsenal really challenge for trophy. Coz Arsenal now have solid back four and the arrival of Hazard will create fluidity of Fab presence to our attacking line. I do think it is upgrade of last year arsenal with the addition of solid back four.

Might not happen. Wenger ‘ll not be spending that amount on a single player, specially when he has a similar player of similar age in Ramsey. Also, a 35mn transfer has made even Chelsea or ManCity careful; there were hardly any crazy money deal this time(AMadrid deserved every penny of that 38mn for Kun).

Teams ‘ll not spend crazy amount on players without prior (Or in total 6months) EPL performance. EPL is different than League 1, (just like Championship) & 28mn is too high for someone rewound for ball-skills in France, to be playing in EPL. I think, he ‘ll be sold in around 18-19mn with future commitments.

However, given options, Hazard might choose Arsenal ahead of Liverpool because in Arsenal chances are that he ‘ll become another Cecs like figure, in LFC, chances are there that, he might become another Acqualini, competing with great talunts like Henderson or Adam.

‘man u supporter’ has hereby proved that nobody who supports that team has the brains to carry on a respectable. Anyway, if you are a manure fan, what are you even doing here?

Well said chinmay, they absolutely are class less. You just dont show it in your games but all around. Just a win over a much weakened team makes them great? rubbish.

By ‘respectable’ i think it is obvious i meant a respectable conversation. I said this to clarify it before the manure supporter starts scratching his head and refers to rude gestures and genitalia for no apparent reason.

Arsenal get the Fabragas payment in January which will be added to the 20 million left over from Summer.

Any deal will depend on how Lille and Arsenal do in the Champions League.

By January we could be out of every competition.

Hang on why are people saying that Wenger won’t “spend that kind of money”? He bid £35 mil’ for Gotze and £30 mil’ for M’vila so why would £28 mil’ be a problem for a player who’s going to be be a world beater? A deal looks likely as he’s Vermaelens cousin too. He’s said before that he wants to play for Wenger and Arsenal.

I’m a Liverpool supporter, and I’d rather have Hazard join Arsenal rather than the Mancs. I hope Wenger pulls this one through. It would be nice for the spectacle at least if top teams can match each other it makes the league more interesting to watch. Hazard would definitely rank among Arsenal’s best signings. Funny all those links surfacing after the closure of the transfer window
