‘Modric Was The Best I played Against Last Season By A Country Mile’

By on September 20, 2011

It seems QPR skipper Joey Barton is a big fan of Tottenham star Luka Modric, judging by his ‘tweet’ this weekend.

The controversial midfielder believes Modric was his toughest test last season and praised his opening goal versus Liverpool on Sunday. Barton tweeted:

“Modric, what a strike!!!! Best I played against last season by a country mile.”

Modric was subject to a £40million deadline day bid from Chelsea, which was rejected by chairman Daniel Levy.

Newcastle’s a big club and Barton is a good player. I would have taken him to Spurs. If Arsenal tumble-on downwards any faster they’ll have to re-write Newtons’ Law…

Since he is thinks he is the best midfielder since sliced bread I guess it’s a complement.
