Liverpool Legend Writes Off Chelsea Striker

By on November 10, 2011

Football pundit Alan Hansen has told Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge to forget about next year’s European Championship.

The Chelsea striker has already scored five goals this season and was picked ahead of Didier Drogba last weekend as the Blues won away to Blackburn. But Liverpool legend Hansen doesn’t believe the newly-called up 22 year-old is good enough to make the plane to next summers Euro’s. He told the Telegraph:

“Despite his qualities, Daniel Sturridge is a million miles away from being ready to take a place in the euro 2012 squad.

“He is a long way from being the finished article and, when all settles down at Chelsea, I cannot see him being more than a substitute at Stamford Bridge this season.

“The big thing in his favour is that he has pace in abundance and that scares defenders.”

“Picked ahead of Drogba”?… Drogba has had the plate removed from his arm, broken prior to the African cup of nations…do keep up. If you can’t get basic details correct what validity do you think such articles hold?
