Spanish Reports: Chelsea Discussing €15m Deal For Barca Starlet

By on November 16, 2011

Chelsea have made their move for Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, according to report in Spain.

Spanish media outlet AS says Chelsea have been watching the talented 19-year old in Barca’s impressive B team with scouts sending back a glowing reference on the playmaker.

Blues football chief Michael Emenalo visited the La Masia training base last week to discuss a potential move for Roberto, who has inked a new deal this year which expires in 2015 and carries a buyout clause of €15 million.

Real Madrid have also made an inquiry for the midfielder but Barca are unlikely to sell the youngster to their arch rivals, leaving Chelsea in the driving seat to seal his signature.
